IIT Bombay Hosts Departmental Degree Distribution Event at 61st Convocation; Check Details Here

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) recently held its Department Degree Distribution Function as part of its 61st Convocation ceremony on two consecutive days August 19 and August 20, 2023.

The DDDFs of 61st Convocation were led by a Departmental Chief Guest, Head of Department, and faculty members. During the event, a total of 3078 degrees were awarded to 2800 students of academic year 2022-23, including 420 PhD degrees. 

IIT Bombay Director Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri congratulated all the degree holders on the occasion. He expressed his views on the Department Degree Distribution Functions “Our task as professors during the life cycle of students at IIT Bombay is to provide them with a firm analytical foundation that will help them achieve success and create an impact on our society, which I am sure they all will.”

Harshit Gupta, a BTech student from Department of Computer Science and Engineering got the President of India Gold Medal award. The institute gold medal was awarded to Anish Shivamani, a Bachelor of Science student from the Department of Chemistry. 

Akshat Shirish Zalte, a BTech student from the Department of Chemical Engineering was awarded with Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal. Apart from this several other students who get the gold and silver medal for their excellent performance. 

A total of 3078 degrees were awarded, out of which there were 816 B.Tech along with 372 Dual Degrees (BTech+MTech) and 68 Interdisciplinary Dual Degrees (BTech/ BS+MTech/ MSc), 61 four-year BS, along with 18 Dual Degrees (BS+MSc), 25 BDes, along with 20 Dual Degree (BDes+MDes), and 30 three-year BS.

Additionally, 643 MTech, 33 MS by Research, 8 Dual Degrees (MTech/MSc+MS by research), 73 MDes, 12 Mphil, 276 two-year MSc, and 4 five-year Integrated Msc, 114 MBA, 39 EMBA, 12 MPP, and 34 PGDIIT were bestowed during the academic year 2022-23.

Apart from this 420 PhD (including a Dual Degree of MTech/ MPhil+PhD, Dual Degree of MSc+PhD, and joint PhDs along with Monash University, NTU, and NUS) were awarded during the academic year 2022-23.
